Conroe Echo is published by Millbury Media LLC. This policy explains how we handle information when you visit our website, request our free newsletter, or contact us. For privacy questions, email contact@millburymedia.com.
Information you give us
When you use a newsletter signup form, we collect your email address. If you send us a message, story idea, event, or correction, we receive the information you choose to include. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information that we do not need.
How newsletter signup works
Our website uses Elementor forms in WordPress to collect signup requests. We manually transfer those email addresses to Beehiiv, our email newsletter provider. The website form is not an automatic connection to Beehiiv, so submitting a request does not mean delivery begins immediately.
The temporary signup record may include your email address, submission date and time, the page used, IP address, and browser information. We use these details to process requests, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot the forms. After transferring requests, we remove them from the temporary website queue. Copies in exports or backups may remain until those files are deleted or expire.
Conroe Echo sends its regular newsletter every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter, or contact us for help. Beehiiv processes newsletter information under its own privacy policy.
Website visits and cookies
Our website, hosting provider, and security tools may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, requested pages, and access times to operate the site, maintain security, and diagnose problems. WordPress and HostGator support the website, and Wordfence helps protect it.
Cookies or similar technology may support necessary website functions, security, administrator sign-in, and embedded third-party content. Our forms use a honeypot to help limit automated spam. If Google reCAPTCHA is enabled on a form, Google may process browser and device information for abuse prevention and may set necessary cookies; Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
How we use and share information
We use information to deliver the newsletter you requested, respond to messages, maintain and protect our services, and meet applicable obligations. We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share necessary information with service providers that help us host, secure, or deliver our services, or where disclosure is required by law or reasonably needed to protect rights and safety.
If we offer a future referral to an outside vendor that requires sharing your contact details, we will seek separate consent for that referral. A newsletter signup alone does not authorize such sharing.
Links and third-party content
Newsletters and website pages may link to other websites or include third-party content. Those services have their own practices. Following a link or interacting with embedded content may allow that provider to receive information about your visit.
Retention and security
We keep information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including processing newsletter requests, managing subscriptions, handling correspondence, and complying with obligations. We use reasonable safeguards, but no website, email system, or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from newsletter emails, adjust your browser’s cookie controls, or contact us about access, correction, or deletion of information we hold. Some information may need to be retained for legitimate operational or legal reasons.
If ownership changes
If Conroe Echo or the relevant publishing business changes ownership, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and the privacy commitments made when it was collected. We will provide notice of material changes where required.
